Christian Hausmann

Master gunsmith and Hausmann & Co GmbH’s eponym and managing director

The initiator

Christian Hausmann functions as Initiator, eponym, and managing director of the firm Hausmann & Co GmbH. For Mr. Hausmann, the decision to found the firm was a logical consequence of his passion for hunting and guns. He had already acquired a hunting licence in his native Germany at the age of fifteen.

He headed for Austria to specialize in his professional career, passing through gunsmith training at the HTBL Ferlach, which he completed with honours as best in his class. Thereafter he specialized in the construction of stocks. The year before founding the firm, he was employed as a journeyman, and ultimately as master at the hunting weapons production firm of Schaschl-Outschar in Ferlach.

The creative one

Georg Heim, native of Lower Austria, began his career with a watchmaker’s apprenticeship in Vienna. After a successful final apprenticeship examination, Heim began training as an engraver at the HTBL in Ferlach, which he completed with outstanding success. Following further specialization in hunting-weapon engraving and design drawing, he put his engraving artistry to the test for many years at the firm of Fanzoj—after a brief period of employment as a watchmaker with Jacques Lemans.

His passion for precision and creativity, and his artistic talent have a major impact on the hunting weapons from Hausmann & Co.

Florian Mutenthaler

Master gunsmith

The specialist

Florian Mutenthaler became one of Austria’s youngest master gunsmiths at the age of twenty-one. Raised in Lower Austria in the beautiful region surrounding Krems on the Danube, he soon moved to Ferlach in Carinthia where his specialization began. After graduating from the Ferlach technical school for gunsmiths with outstanding success, he began to deepen his workshop skills in 2006 at the firm of Fanzoj in Ferlach. The graduation as a Ferlach master gunsmith followed in 2008. Mutenthaler preferred to concentrate on his own ideas and creations, which he was ultimately able to successfully introduce into the firm of Hausmann & Co.

Values such as independence, creativity, and precise execution are Mutenthaler’s motivation for successful craft work.

The worldwide hunting and culinary pleasures are among his passions. The latter of these—true to his place of birth — includes oenology.
