Facing Death

This themed rifle from Hausmann & Co, with one of the most complex engravings in the company’s history, also represents the anniversary rifle of ten years of manufacture history.

Concept of the rifle

The name of this double rifle already reveals which topic is being dealt with here. The moment when hunter and leopard hit each other and the eyes of the opponents meet. It is one of the most intense and unforgettable moments of any hunt and is the subject of many campfire stories.

The engraving

The multicolour gold scene engraving deals with this topic impressively and is surrounded by a filigree ornament inlaid entirely in gold and silver.
In order to increase the drama and excitement, three leopards were shown as black panthers that appear to emerge from the background of the blued steel action.

The rifle

The Facing Death is an elegant and easy-to-handle double rifle in the proven caliber .470 N.E. The curved and fluted octagonal barrels and concealed screwless sidelocks are the striking details of this exclusive rifle. An extended top tang, automatic ejectors, a finely adjusted double trigger and an excellently grained stock with a leather-covered butt plate round off the appearance of this double rifle and result in a hunting weapon of the highest level of craftsmanship.

The encasement

For an extraordinary themed rifle like the Facing Death, only an extraordinary case comes into question.
It is a handcrafted, deep black lacquered piano case with an inlet made of the finest, cream-colored Alcantara in connection with real zebra fur, quilted manufacturer’s logo and hand-quilted rhombuses. This case makes this unique project what it is – a SUPERIOR GUN
